These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Golden Jiu Jitsu (“GJJ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) website at goldenjj.com and its subdomains. By using our site, you agree to these Terms.

What This Site Is For

Our website provides information about GJJ’s programs, schedule, and coaching philosophy. It also allows you to book free intro classes and access member resources through our hub at app.goldenjj.com.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use this site independently. Parents and guardians may use the site to book classes and manage accounts on behalf of their children (ages 4 and up for kids programs).

Booking a Free Intro Class

When you book a free intro class through our site:

You agree to provide accurate contact information
Your booking is a reservation, not a contract for ongoing services
We will contact you to confirm your booking
You can cancel or reschedule by contacting us directly
No payment information is collected for a free intro class

Membership Terms

Memberships are managed separately from this website. When you join GJJ:

Monthly memberships require 30 days’ notice to cancel. No long-term contracts required.
Prepaid commitments (6-month or annual) are paid upfront and are non-refundable after the first 30 days, except as described in our guarantee.
“You’ll Know By Day 30” Guarantee: If you attend at least eight classes within your first 30 days of membership (your free trial class does not count) and decide GJJ is not for you, we will refund your first month’s payment. Refund requests must be made within those same 30 days. This applies to new members only.
Class packs (4-class or 10-class) expire 6 months from purchase and are non-transferable.
Rate lock: Your own plan rate never goes up while you stay a member. Two things that sit on top of it can still move: a promotional first month is a discount off your rate rather than the rate itself, and a household discount depends on who else is training, so it leaves with the family member whose membership created it. A freeze does not break the lock: a frozen membership is still a membership, and your rate resumes unchanged when it ends. Cancelling and rejoining does start over, at whatever the rates are when you rejoin. Your own rate and any adjustments are stated in your Membership Schedule, which governs.
Membership pricing, benefits, and terms may change, and rates for new members can change at any time. Subject to the rate lock above, current members will be notified in advance of any change that affects their existing membership. Your own rate is stated in your Membership Schedule, which governs.

Specific membership terms are provided at the time of enrollment and govern the membership relationship.

Assumption of Risk and Waiver

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a contact sport that involves physical exertion, grappling, and body-to-body contact. By participating in any GJJ class, open mat, or event:

You acknowledge that injuries can occur in any physical activity, including but not limited to bruises, sprains, strains, joint injuries, and in rare cases, more serious injuries
You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in jiu jitsu training
You agree to follow all safety guidelines, including tapping early when caught in a submission, maintaining personal hygiene, and following coach instructions
You confirm you are physically able to participate or have obtained medical clearance to do so

For minors, a parent or legal guardian must acknowledge these risks and sign the waiver on behalf of their child before the child’s first class.

A separate participation waiver is completed as part of the new member onboarding process. These Terms do not replace that waiver.

Community Standards

GJJ maintains a training environment built on mutual respect. By participating, you agree to:

Treat all training partners, coaches, and staff with respect
Follow the “tap early, play often, no ego” culture
Maintain proper hygiene (clean gi/rashguard, trimmed nails, no open wounds)
Respect the training space and equipment
Follow coach instructions regarding intensity, technique restrictions, and safety

We reserve the right to suspend or revoke membership for behavior that violates these standards, with or without prior warning depending on severity.

We strive to keep all information on our site accurate and current, including class schedules, pricing, and program descriptions. However, schedules and availability may change. Check with us directly if you need to confirm details.

Intellectual Property

All content on this site, including text, images, logos, and design, is the property of Golden Jiu Jitsu or used with permission. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use (like sharing a link to our site).

User-Generated Content

If you submit reviews, testimonials, photos, or other content to us or about us that we feature on our site, you grant GJJ a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that content for marketing purposes. We will always attribute content to you and will remove it at your request.

GJJ is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website
Our total liability for any claim related to the website is limited to the amount you paid us through the website in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater
This limitation does not apply to injuries sustained during physical training, which are governed by the participation waiver

This site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

Disputes

If you have a concern or dispute:

Jurisdiction. Any legal action must be filed in the courts of Jefferson County, Colorado.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the website or member hub sites if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the site at any time.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For material changes, we will notify current members by email.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
