Start playing
You'll warm up with the class, then get paired with an experienced member who knows how to work with new people. Most people are nervous. By the end of class, most people are hooked.
What Members Say
" I was convinced I'd embarrass myself. Everyone was patient and genuinely helpful. I had no idea what I was doing my first class, but I had fun. That was six months ago and I haven't stopped. "

" My kid asks to go to practice. That's all I needed to hear. The coaches actually know each kid by name and know what each one needs. "

" I trained at another gym for two years and learned more about positioning in my first month here. The structure is completely different and it works. "

Before You Come In
Do I need to be in shape first?
No. You don't get in shape first and then come to jiu jitsu. Jiu jitsu is how you get in shape. Show up as you are.
Is it safe?
It's a contact sport, so contact happens. That said, safety is taken seriously. You can stop any activity at any time. Tapping out is taught on day one as a normal part of training. Coaches watch intensity in the room and manage it. Nobody should leave hurt.
What do I bring?
Athletic shorts (no pockets, velcro, buttons, or zippers), a fitted t-shirt or rash guard, a water bottle, and slides or flip flops for walking off the mats. If you don't have gear, we have loaners. Trim your nails before you come.
What actually happens in the first class?
A coach meets you before class, shows you around, and walks you through the basics. You'll warm up with everyone else, then get paired with an experienced member who knows how to work with new people. You play the same games as the rest of the class, with adjustments for your level. Nobody is evaluating you. The only goal is for you to experience how we train and see if it's a fit.
